How I Price My Projects

Whether you found me through a referral, on google or we’ve known each other from a previous project or employment. Here’s what you can expect when I price out and invoice projects I work on and when it comes to pricing. I typically price everything out at either a fixed price or hourly price.

Fixed Pricing

I use this pricing for when a project is more defined than not and I’m able to create an educated estimate. In order to do this. I will need wireframes, sitemaps and, if you’re this far in a project, designs, along with anything else you may have. Using fixed pricing also helps keep any surprise or shock of cost at the end to a minimum and this is how I price the majority of my work. As most clients I’ve had have enough of a project defined to allow for this.

Hourly Pricing

I use hourly pricing when it comes to maintaining projects and smaller projects that are typically building upon an already built site.. Whether I was the original developer on the project or not. If this is how we decide to price out your project. I will give you my best estimate of hours wi the information provided and will have a low and high end of hours along with my hourly rate.

+/- 10% on Estimates I provide

With any estimates I provide. They’re just that, estimates. Sometimes an aspect of a project changes or the project is larger than originally anticipated and because of this. I input a clause on all estimates that the estimate will be +/- 10% of the original estimate.

How Invoicing Works

When it comes to invoicing any project. I have a few different tiers of invoicing based on the estimate. A deposit of 30% is due before any work begins. On estimates less than $7,999. The remaining 70% of estimate will be invoiced upon completion of development or the site going live. With estimates between $8,000 and $15,999, an additional 30% of estimate will be invoiced net 60 days after development begins with the remaining 40% of estimate being invoiced upon completion of development or the site going live. With estimates greater than or equal to $16,000. 30% of this estimate will be invoiced net 60 days after development begins, an additional 25% being invoiced net 150 days after development begins and the remaining 15% being invoice upon completion of development or the site going live. If the site is launched before net 60 days on projects between $8,000 and $15,999. The remaining outstanding amount of the estimate will be invoiced when the site is launched.

In the End

If we decide to work on a project together. This is how you can expect estimating and invoicing can go and if you think I’m able to help on a project you have. You can get in touch with me here.
